Our story

Sixteen years of the same idea, applied carefully.

Headquartered in Melbourne, we act for individual and business clients right across Australia, not just our own postcode. Our focus is taxation in its fullest sense — from personal tax returns through to company, trust and partnership returns — and every engagement pairs the numbers with advice you can actually use.

The aim is simple: reduce what you lawfully owe, explain why, and bring the same care and professionalism to a two-person side hustle as we would a growing company. Support is built around the client in front of us, not a standard package — which is why we still answer the phone ourselves.

2009

Two partners, one room in Richmond

Started with four clients between us and a filing cabinet that was mostly empty.

2013

Moved the practice to cloud ledgers

Early to Xero, which meant monthly reconciliation instead of annual. It changed what we could tell clients, and when.

2017

Added advisory as a standing service

Clients kept asking what the numbers meant. We stopped treating that as a favour and built it into the engagement.

2021

Fixed monthly fees across the board

We retired the timesheet. Scope agreed up front, one figure per month, quick questions free.

2025

Fourteen people, 640 businesses

Still capped at sixty clients per adviser. Still answering the phone.

What we hold to

Four things we don't trade away.

01

Plain answers

If we can't explain a position in a sentence, we haven't finished thinking about it. No jargon used as a shield.

02

Say the number first

Fees agreed before work starts, and we flag anything outside scope before we do it, not after.

03

Current, not catching up

Books reconciled monthly. Deadlines tracked on our side. Nothing on your file should surprise us.

04

Careful with the detail

Someone other than the preparer reviews every lodgement. Small errors compound.

The team

The people who'll have your file.

You'll meet your adviser at the first meeting and they stay with you. If they're on leave, whoever covers has already read your file.
